Speaker: Zachary Hordeski, PG; Hydrogeologist – Endeavor Professional Services
This presentation focuses on the advantages of utilizing borehole geophysics during the exploration phase of subsurface mineral exploration. After providing an explanation of each of the essential geophysical probes, this presentation highlights how these tools can be used to provide a set of quantifiable, precise, and repeatable data including key lithologic data, structural data, and several other data sets crucial to subsurface exploration.
o Bio: Graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geoscience in 2017. Started his career with 6 years of hands-on field work as the lead geophysicist at Earth Data Northeast, where he participated in hundreds of hydrogeologic investigations and environmental projects. Through this job he gained extensive experience performing borehole geophysics and downhole video surveys. Over 6 years, he logged over 500 boreholes, across a variety of geologic environments. At the earliest opportunity, he acquired his Pennsylvania PG license and began administering geologic consulting as a professional geologist. In 2023, he was recruited to work for Endeavor Professional Services as a hydrogeologist. Shortly after joining Endeavor, he started his own borehole geophysical logging service to support water supply and environmental projects across Pennsylvania. He now seeks to expand this service to the mining industry.
